Starship for Sale is a fun and easy book to read.

I’m really not sure what to say about the book. Its not good or bad enough to critique. You can get the sense of the book by reading the title.

Probably the best way to describe the book is sort of like Weird Science and The Last Starfighter merge into something with a larger fictional universe. The novel is actually the first in a nine(!) novel series. So if you enjoy the novel a lot you’ll have many more you get to read after it.

What impresses me the most about Starship for sale is the productivity of its author. M.R. Forbes whoever he is (if he’s even a single person) has produced copious quantities of average ScyFy. That’s pretty bad ass. It reminds me of the cheap “Dragon Lance” and “Forgotten Relms” novels I read as a 14 year old kid. And this is exactly the person I could give this book to as a gift. Some 14 year old boy who just wants to get lost in a lot of Fantasy Novels.

If you want a nice pulp read Starship for Sale fits the bill. I don’t think I’ll read the remaining books. Its just not the stories for me right now.
