Escape Pod: The Science Fiction Anthology

Escape Pod is a short story collection that was created related to some aniversery of a podcast of the same name. I had never heard of the podcast before reading the book.

I was actually linked the book by a friend as a joke about something else, but I bought it and read it anyway.

In summary Escape Pod is pretty mediocre. To be frank there was only one short story I really liked and that was Jaiden’s Weaver by Mary Robinette Kowal. Its a classic “Kid wants a dog” story retold with SciFi theming. “A Princess of Nigh-Space by Tim Pratt was fun. It would be a good a basis for a screen play, but it wasn’t great.

Besides these two you can probably skip the rest.
